TITLE: Hunting Island Lighthouse, Coastal South Carolina
CAPTION: Established in 1859, the old Beaufort County lighthouse is the island’s third. Out of operation for over 30 years, the present structure was completed in 1889. The first structure was destroyed during the Confederate War. The secound structure, one fourth mile inland, was soon unsafe due to sea erosion and moved 1-1/4 miles to the present site. The lighthouse is open to the public.

TITLE: Selkirk Light
CAPTION: SELKIRK LIGHT – Located four miles west of Pulaski at the mouth of the Salmon River. It is a reminder of the days when sailing vessels and steam packets provided transportation. Erected in 1838, Selkirk Lighthouse (now privately owned) serves as a landmark for pleasure boats and small cruisers using the Salmon River as a port.
