CAPTION:  Block Island’s Southeast Light being moved out of danger from the edge of Mohegan Bluffs, 245 feet inland in August of 1993.  This light has been in operation since 1975 and is 200 feet above the sea.

CAPTION: Overlooking beautiful Narragansett Bay, the First lighthouse was built on this site in1827. The present lighthouse was constructed in 1932, and because of damage suffered from a hurricane in 1938, it was moved inland 75 feet. It is 55 feet tall, of metal construction, and delivers 2,233 candle power.
