TITLE: Biloxi Lighthouse

CAPTION: Constructed in 1848, 65 feet high with a revolving stairway and ladder through the center. During the War Between the States, the lens of the Lighthouse was removed and buried until after the war, when it was returned unharmed. When Lincoln was assasinated, the Lighthouse was painted black and was said to be the only public building in the South to be draped in mourning. Located on U.S. 90 Highway, Biloxi, Mississippi.

CAPTION: Split Rock Lighthouse is one of the scenic Points of Interest on the North Shore Drive. Situated on the brink of a sheer cliff, 200 feet above the lake, the lighthouse is not only picturesque, but extremely important to boats plying the lake. The lighthouse is open to visitors daily except Sunday. Split Rock is so named because two cliffs, a quarter of a mile apart, when viewed from the lake, appear as one split in twain.
